CAT'S
ATLANTIC AND CHANNEL LEGS |
|||||
Just when you - and I - thought it was all over... Having survived the rigours of the Southern Ocean (a small selection of pics here) hereI had a week being a tourist in Cape Town (pics) before going to Abu Dhabi to defrost my bones for a while. I did say there that I would sail the Atlantic Ocean one day, so when I got back to Edinburgh and then received an e mail offering me the chance to rejoin 'Me to You' in Boston to finish the race, I didn't have to deliberate long! There really was no choice, so after a bit of a saga trying to get a US visa that it turns out I didn't actually need after all, and parting company with my job, I am off to Boston in a few hours! We set sail on June 19th and will race the 11 other yachts across the Atlantic Ocean to La Rochelle, estimating to arrive there sometime around the 3rd to 6th of July (ideal for a wee break?). Having regrouped all the yachts, the final 'sprint' sets off on 13th July to arrive into Portsmouth on 16th July 2005. It would be great to see some familiar faces there if anyone is in the vicinity. |

These two will be much shorter legs than the last one I did, but will still be challenging so please do keep watching at www.globalchallenge2004.com and sending me messages of support - they meant so much. And of course it is never too late to help me reach my Cat's Leg 4 target for Save the Children, by donating online at www.justgiving.co.uk/catsleg4. So big apologies to those that I have not managed to catch up with. I hope you'll still talk to me when I get back! Catriona |
